UX, Systems, and Web Design work for a charity evaluation platform
The proposed page structure anchored on a cascading flow of information, with an easy-to-digest rating card positioned next to key identification information in the header. This information is supported by a breakdown of sources/information accompanied by explanations of the rating system.
One of the most critical elements of the ratings card was determining how to control information when a charity has a flag based on the internal advisory system. Looking at three different states (Low, Moderate, or High Advisory) the card system flexibly allows users to continue to get information and make their own informed decisions, until there is a high advisory level.
Once scrolled out of view, the ratings card collapses into a quick-to-view info bar along the top of the screen. The bar also includes quick action buttons to either make a donation to the charity or add it to your favorites list.
We developed a series of color themes and backgrounds to allow for some page customization without introducing content moderation.
For each of the primary categories of evaluation (Finance, Integrity, Impact, and Diversity), there is an in-depth report. With an interactive click-thru, further data and explanations are easily available, without interfering with a user's ability to skim.
